Being home is glorious. Wonderful. I keep sleeping past 12 pm. I'll let the reader draw conclusions on what I think about that.
My parents and I went shopping yesterday. They want to get a new TV for the living room. I'm not totally opposed to the idea so much as I am opposed to the idea of adding to the endless cycle of buying and selling to replace one that works perfectly fine. As consumers, do we really need to toss out things that are perfectly good to replace it with something slightly better?
And then there are objects people keep for nothing more than the thought that they "might" need it again later. The house is full of stuff like that. Why don't we get rid of some of that instead?
I remember my last donation to Goodwill had to be done in secret since I should apparently save my old really clothes that haven't fit in five years for future use. That one really doesn't fly seeing as I don't have a little sister, nor is one bound to show up anytime soon.
My room is overflowing, and I hate to think I'm one of those people that buy for the sake of buying. Yet, that's what it looks like might have happened somewhere along the way.
