Operation Dinner Out

I get to hang out with Jaclyn tonight! Yay! We're going to dinner downtown with a couple people. Strangely enough, one of the girls was a friend of mine in middle school.

Small world.

Smile

All this free time is driving me crazy.

Got up at 9:30 this morning. Played with Ruka. Played LBP (for much longer than I should have). Met a couple of aussies. Had a neat little chat. Got called a barbie. It was fun. Then they had to go because a wild wallaby knocked over a trash can outside of their house.

Now I'm back in my room and I'm quite determined to free up some space by cleaning out the little nightstand/cabinet next to my bed.

New Layout

Finally got a new layout. No, I didn't make this one.

It's cute though, ne?

Bust-A-Move

Being home is glorious. Wonderful. I keep sleeping past 12 pm. I'll let the reader draw conclusions on what I think about that.

My parents and I went shopping yesterday. They want to get a new TV for the living room. I'm not totally opposed to the idea so much as I am opposed to the idea of adding to the endless cycle of buying and selling to replace one that works perfectly fine. As consumers, do we really need to toss out things that are perfectly good to replace it with something slightly better?

And then there are objects people keep for nothing more than the thought that they "might" need it again later. The house is full of stuff like that. Why don't we get rid of some of that instead?

I remember my last donation to Goodwill had to be done in secret since I should apparently save my old really clothes that haven't fit in five years for future use. That one really doesn't fly seeing as I don't have a little sister, nor is one bound to show up anytime soon.

My room is overflowing, and I hate to think I'm one of those people that buy for the sake of buying. Yet, that's what it looks like might have happened somewhere along the way.

Somebody to Love

Glee's season finale comes out tonight! w00t w00t! I can't wait to watch it on hulu. Craig and I were talking about the episode where Kristen Chenowith guest stars, and I ended up watching Glee episodes/videos while studying last night. Now I have the Glee version of Queen's Somebody to Love stuck in my head.

This morning pretty much sucked. I slept through my alarm and woke up at 7:45. Had an exam at 8. So, I ran all the way from McCabe to Sonoco and managed to make it before O'Hara walked in.

The exam itself was extremely difficult. My pencil jammed halfway through. Seventy-five percent of the thing was short answer and I kept second guessing myself. *sighs* Guess it just wasn't my morning.

Now I gotta get ready for the CI presentation at 11:30.

At least Godfrey is just a hop, step, and jump away from McCabe.

USPS

I just got a phone call.
The US post office has apparently lost something very important.

The one time I don't get a tracking number for the package. *smacks self in the head*

Cracker Barrel

So...I went to Cracker Barrel last night (for the first time, ever).
Matt solved the peg board puzzle in less than a minute. It was AMAZING.
Yay for geeky stuff!

Oh yeah, the 440 exam this morning was not quite a bad as I thought it would be. I really hope I get an A in the class. *sighs*

Modern Society

I am going to try being a more social person.
Hopefully this doesn't backfire. *crosses fingers*

Two Weeks

There are officially two weeks left in the semester. It looks like it's going to be an interesting two weeks though.

Just got back a little while ago from my individual review with Mrs. House. Art class. It wasn't as painful as I thought it was going to be. Now I have all my stuff back and I can't wait to do another character enlargement in charcoal (just for fun). Teehee.

Gotta put together that research report for Inks & Substrates. At least the experiment is done.

There's a CI meeting tonight at 7 to determine our "exam" meeting time. We're really just going to go over what needs to be done for our presentations. I think my group has sort of got that covered though.

Then there's that paper for Advanced Flexo. Geez, I wonder what Jay's going to have to say about the first draft Pari and I have put together. We're supposed to meet on Tuesday and check it over again before sending it out.

Fun, fun.

On another note, I met an interesting character last night with Lan Chi and Craig. Stayed out till 12 AM. Then I came back in and realized that someone had attempted to start a conversation with me on AIM. Oops. But, it was a good conversation nonetheless.

Oh wow, I still have an hour left before work. I think I'll watch the first Shugo Chara episode.

PS: No bandages with kitties today. Mrow.

I think I'll try defying gravity.

Hypnosis

So...I just came back from seeing the hypnotist, Sailesh. IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING. Just as good as it was when I was a Freshman. =D What a wonderful memory of Senior year.

I got to see the same sort of show twice. By myself. Again. Of course. Always by myself.

It was hilarious. I laughed so hard, I cried. I cried so hard, I laughed. Absolutely. Amazing show. I wish the mentalist would come back. He was awesome too.

It was totally worth taking an hour and a half out of my night to go see it. Even if I do have a huge exam tomorrow morning. I feel...sorta better.

In any case, my birthday is coming up. Friday the 13th. Whoo-hoo for me. I get to go home (sometime on Friday, pending on how 407 goes), get my first drink in a restaurant, hang out with my parents (maybe watch Audition with my dad), watch some anime, hang out with my cat...yep.

I did want to spend it with some of my friends. In fact, I kind of planned to spend it with a few people. Didn't work out. Never does. Why do I always feel like that last one standing out in the crowd, by themselves? ...all the time.

Maybe cause that's how it always works out.

Everyone I wanted to spend my birthday with has:

1) Left the US
2) Left the state of SC
3) Broke my heart
4) Doesn't want to talk to me right now
5) Done one or more of the above

As someone said, I am "the queen of bad timing."

So thank you all. *takes a bow* I feel wonderful.

Happy early birthday to me.

Scheduling

I just randomly got dropped from the ENG 385 class for next semester. *grumble grumble*

Oh well, now I'm in ENG 212. Hope World Literature turns out interesting. At least I'll have books to read. =D

Bamboo

I got a freaking awesome Bamboo tablet! Yay! It's so much fun, I can't wait to start doodling in Illustrator. =D

Paper Paper Paper

I just learned more about paper than I ever needed to know. Bring the paper part of the 446 test on! Rawr!

...

Now I need to learn about ink. @.@

I should have had a chemistry minor. *nodshead* Oh well, too late now.

EDIT: I just found out my press partner has swine flu. Dernit.

Blagh.

This is really not my week.

ADV

ADV officially shut down yesterday.
I can't even express how sad I am.

Terror

I should make a new layout. *mulls over the idea* Maybe this weekend? Probably not though.

I just got out of an impromptu meeting with Dr. Ingram. I asked him about the TAGA presentation to the 101 class. Pretty much everyone in the class signed up. Of course, we couldn't figure out if that was cause they were interested or if it was due to the fact that Ingram, the GC Department Chair, asked them to sign. It was quite funny.

In any case, this whole president thing kind of scares me. Wait, this WHOLE semester kind of scares me. I wonder if maybe I've bitten off more than I can chew. Then again, I'm totally excited about...well...everything. I just feel like my life is going to be about living, seeing, and breathing print.

I had my first GC 407 meeting today with Jay Sperry. Apparently Maggie, Logan, TW, Pari, and one guy named Dana (sp?) are in the class with me. It sounds like we're going to be doing individual research projects as a class. Collectively. We get to run the new press. I'm super excited. I don't know how I'm going to fit all this in to 24 hours. I think I might just have to give up sleep. @.@

I REALLY want to run something on shrink sleeve material. That would just be awesome. I don't know why, but I feel like it would just be awesome.

PURLs later today. I feel like my brain might explode at the end of the semester. Oh boy. I can't wait.

Is it weird to feel terrified and excited all at once?

A Song for No One in Particular

So, I've had this song stuck in my head for the past few hours. Dern that Michelle Branch and her songs.

I don't know how long it's been going on
I don't know how long colours were changing to gray
It's kinda funny that I act this way

I don't know how long you've been holding on
I don't know how long everything's been my fault
It's getting easier to take the blame
It's getting easier to try and change

Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I'm finally feeling like I can explain myself
I'm not claiming that I know everything
No I'm not
Because you made me this way

I don't know how long I can justify it
I'm tired of making up reasons you're not on my side
And I would never talk to her that way
No I would never talk to her that way

Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I'm finally feeling like I can explain myself
I'm not claiming that I know everything
No I'm not
Because you made me this way

Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I'm finally feeling like I can explain myself
I'm not claiming that I know everything
No I'm not
Oh

Too many times I have told you
That I was okay
But I'm finally feeling like I can explain myself
I'm not claiming that I know everything
No I'm not
Because you made me this way
You made me this way

I don't know how long it's been going on

Man, I really need to remove the link to this blog from my "professional" website. Maybe I'll do that right here, right now.

EDIT: Haha, I just checked and I've already removed it.

You are already dead.

I'm so tired. I can't sleep. My nerves are too wound up.

School starts soon. I have to leave again. It'll be back to late night phone calls and the daily frustration.

I hung out with a friend today. It's been 3 months since I've seen him. It was a loooooot of fun. We watched a show that was filled was gorgeous blood filled animation and fear. Then we played an absurdly cute game.

Temptation

So, I got this REALLY long e-mail from a friend today. Why do most of my friends send me super long e-mails? Ok, I guess it's not so much of a bother. They're kind of fun to answer.

I'm just really tempted to switch my computer to the Windows side and start playing the Sims 3 though. @.@

14 Days

I looked on the calendar today. I have 14 days left for my internship.

This makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Metrocon

So, I went to Metrocon. I bought a TON of stuff. Most of which is not really for me. >.>;;; At least the big objects aren't. Lol.

I got about 10 more pins for my collection! w00t w00t!

And I got this super cute plushie of a cat character named Nyanko-chan. I didn't mean to buy. I just picked it up and it LOOKED at me. So cute. =^.^=

Chicken soup

So, I found another cafe that's a 10 minute walk from the apartment that I can come to for internet. They have more food choices too. I had this really yummy chicken noodle soup and an awesome apple pie. ^_^

Things in FL aren't so bad after all.

Tiff's 21st

Ok, so it's Tiffany's 21st birthday. She's totally plastered and almost passed out on the couch right now. Eddie and Stephanie (her friends) came over to celebrate with her. I drank just as much as Tiff and Steph did, but I'm only feeling a buzz right now. Eddie drank more than the three of us put together and he was perfectly fine. Heheh. He and I ended up talking about the advantages of 2D animation over 3D animation. =D

So, I've come to the conclusion that X Rated absolutely sucks. It tastes disgusting. Bacardi + Red Bull doesn't taste too bad though. Not exactly great, but not horrible either.

Wheee...drinks. w00t!

Kodak. *click*

I'm finally home! I'm moving out again on Thursday though. *sighs* Oh well. It'll be an adventure.

On another note, I'm going to spend the day with Angel and Daniel. Daniel's picking up sushi from Bloom's for lunch. I gotta go get Angel in a few minutes. I wonder if I remember how to get to Daniel's house. I think I still have the directions in my car...somewhere. >.>;;;

Let's see...things at home have been great. We went on a sort of shopping spree yesterday. I swear, there's this one corner in JCPenny's that's evil cause I always manage to find a shirt or something that I really like and end up buying. -_-;; Oh well, more black to add to the collection!

My room's a mess. It's really bugging me.

Presentations

Ok, so I'm sitting here in Moe Joe's. This is actually the first time I've hooked my computer up in Moe Joe's, come to think of it.

It's so nice and cool in here. I just got out of the 405/406 exam. x.x; We didn't really take our exam. We just presented our product lines. By the time I got up there my brain was so scrambled from the heat, I totally forgot what I was going to say. -__- I had half bits and pieces of my presentation floating around in my head and parts of it came out right and other parts didn't.

Let's see, what else...um...oh, there was something. So, everyone's really confused about the sushi thing tonight. Oh well, I guess as long as we go eat.

I feel kind of sick right now. T.T It's probably from the heat. Stupid sun.

Just an Ordinary Day

I'm sitting in one of those cubby holes in the library on the 5th floor right now.

I love being in the library on Saturdays. Don't do it often since that means I have work to do, but it's so nice and quiet in here. I don't have to fight for a computer to get my stuff printed. I don't have to stumbled around people when they're going up and down the stairs. It's just nice for a klutz like me.

Of course, I NEVER come in here during exam week. Ha. That'd be just crazy.

I've been working presentations and powerpoints all day. I hate powerpoints. At least my English paper is completely finished. =D

I was watching Witch Hunter Robin in the room. Just finished disc 3. Yay! Just 3 more to go. w00t w00t! It's actually a very interesting show when you watch it in chronological order. I actually understand what's going and who all the characters are. XD

Ok, I'm going to go...play La Tale. Yay!

Rawr. Stupid. Print.

Fizzing. Thumb. Notch.

Oh ethanol and sustainability...how useless you look right now

I should be doing my paper, but I just feel like not doing it. I haven't written a formal research paper since Freshman year and now I have to write one by Thursday.

So, I looked to the past for inspiration. Dang. I used to be able to write. Now, I'm not so sure. I still feel like I'm getting dumber as I get older. Maybe the world is just opening its doors to me and I'm realizing that I don't really know anything. Who knows?

Ok, enough about that.

This weekend was good. I went home. Angel came over. It was my mom's birthday. We had ice cream cake. She got a WiiFit. My dad also got me the two Death Note movies. w00t! Can't wait to find time to watch those. =D

We also planned my big move to Florida. At least we got the flight information for my dad to come back to SC and all that stuff. I can't believe I'm moving in three weeks. That's just crazy. What am I going to do for three months in a totally different state? Oh yeah, really cool printing.

At least I've heard about this AWESOME muffin place I have to try while I'm down there. Ahahahahaha.

Muffins.

PS - I wish I was thinner. T.T

Geek^3

I put together my counter display today. IT WORKS! w00t w00t w00t!!!

Then I put a bottle, bag, and a paperboard box that's to scale in it.

Everything fits.

This makes me ridiculously happy. ^_^

Old songs on the Radio

♫ When I was young
I'd listen to the radio
Waiting for my favorite songs
When they played I'd sing along
They made me smile. ♫

Ok, so I'm still young and I still do that when I get the chance. When I get a nice (weekend) morning to myself I just leave the radio on and wait for good music. It's quite relaxing.

Oh yeah, I've been listening to Pandora a lot lately. It's just given me a bunch of songs from old-school Britney Spears, *NSync, and the Backstreet Boys. >.>

All in all, today wasn't really that bad. I supposed it could have been a worse. Mondays are generally no fun anyways.

Tuesdays though...now those are fun. =D I get to go to lab and make plates for my box, then I get to plot my counter display and hope that it works. If it doesn't then I've got a few ideas on how to modify it. After that I'll probably try to squeeze in etching my glass cup.

Then the awards banquet is later in the evening. I hope they serve good food there. I've never been to it before, but Dr. O'Hara said he wanted to recognize the TAGA members there. So, we'll see what happens. I don't even know if Jaclyn and Jonny are going. Maybe I'm just as bad at saying "no" as Jaclyn is.

Everything's been going pretty well lately. I might have a bad day, but it doesn't really bother me as much as it used to. Maybe I'm just getting used to this whole living thing. I might have found my center of gravity or something. I dunno, it's been good so far.

Elite Beat Agents is also playing in my head. Must figure out how to defeat the next level. Grrrr.

Thursday, April 2, 2009

Glass

I guess it's been a while. I should probably update.

Ok, I have this glass screen printing project in class, right? Right? I like screen printing. *nodsheadmadly*

But I've been working on this since 8 am this morning and now I feel like I am getting ready to go a little nuts. I've washed out my screen 4 freaking times. I might have to do it a fifth time if the image comes off again. =/ I told Dr. Woolbright I'll keep going at this till I print something or shatter something. Of course, if I shatter something, then that would involve cleaning it up...which would probably involve getting cut. Ah, I hope I don't shatter anything. -_-

Let's see...aside from that, things are pretty good. It's dark and gloomy outside. I'm planning on spending my weekend in Clemson. Going to get started on the research papers I have due at the end of the year. La dee da.

Nobody reads this anyway.

Ok, I'm going to go see if my screen is dry.

Thursday, March 5, 2009

Box Design, Box Design

I'm sitting in lab right now. I have a book of different package designs open and I keep getting hung up on this one specific package because I can't figure out how it works. Maybe I should just make that one for the satisfaction of seeing how it turns out.

Not sure if I should do that though.

On another note, TAGA has basically eaten up all of my time. I work on this stuff day and night, day and night, and then I go to bed sometime between the hours of 2 am and 4 am without having done any of my other work. At least it will all be done soon. I haven't fallen too far behind in my other classes either. So, I guess I got it covered. I'm just tired.

TAGA...TAGA...TAGA...I basically just finished putting together a 42 page book. Yay! It will all be worth it once it's collated and binded.

IED is coming up. I'm terrified and excited at the same time. I already have an interview lined up with Cyber Graphics on Tuesday. Yay! It would be really cool to intern there.

Ok, back to this book I have open in my lap...

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Hehe. Just for fun.

Science

It's been a tiring day and it's not even half over.

Had lab at 8 am this morning. That wasn't so bad. Andy and I detacked our plates and put them in his drawer. Maybe we'll mount them on Thursday. It shouldn't be too hard. I remember mounting the plates for TAGA's CD label last year. Perhaps I should invest in an eye patch.

Then it was lunchtime. I ran into both of the Dr. Woolbright's in Harcombe. Talked for a while. I really like Dr. Woolbright (the woman), she's fun to talk to. The other Dr. Woolbright (her husband) seems nice, but I haven't really gotten to know him yet.

After lunch it was 405 lecture. We gave our presentation on Kodak Pandora. It was better than everybody's because we had a full color brochure and a powerpoint. w00t! We were also really well prepared for actually presenting stuff. Yay~ It's kind of a nice feeling to give a presentation that goes well.

Now I'm in my room studying for my Environmental Science test. I can't study for it like I do for other tests because the information just doesn't want to stick in my head. It's actually very annoying. So, I'm trying a different method of studying. The one I used in high school with flashcards and stuff. Hopefully that will help. I've done two chapters. Just four more to go.

TAGA meeting tonight. I hope people show up. Awright, time to get back to work.

Laundry

No, the title has nothing to do with the post.

This weekend was quite interesting. It was Valentine's and I got to hang out with my good ole friends.

Angel and I did what we were supposed to get accomplished and then we goofed off doing this and that (which was fun in it's own way). We had a great lunch at Pizza Hut and an overpriced dinner at Chili's. >.>;;; Then we ended up spending the night at Ariel's house due to the thick fog that covered the ground. Not to mention the fact that I was dead tired, my eyes were killing me, and my brain was in no state to operate a moving vehicle at 15 mph (much less 65 mph). In fact, I was so tired that I started calling Angel different types of pastries. We finally settled on cream puffs and blueberry muffins.

Now I'm back at Clemson tired as ever. All the muscles in my body feel sore and I just want to crawl into bed and go back to sleep till next week. Unfortunately, there's a lot to be done this week. Tests and papers to write are calling my name even. *sighs*

On another side of the pyramid, I borrowed Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard from Angel. Don't know when I'll get to play it, but it looks super cute.

Time to go to the library and then afternoon classes. Yay~

Quick updates

Ah, it's been a while since I've posted anything in here.

School-wise:
Things have been fun in most of my classes. I have a test tomorrow afternoon in Psychology. Shouldn't be too bad, I hope. I've been studying for it since last week. Andy and I are also ready to make film in 406 lab, so I'm working on the flexible package design now. I found with type of bag I want to use, I just have to measure and design it. Yay! The fun part. I was also looking through a book at B&N about Package design and I found this really awesome package I want to make for the last part of the 406 product line. w00t! We'll see though.

Anime-wise:
Not much going on. Started watching FMP: Fumoffu! Volume 1 was great. Hilarious, anything but a disappointment. It's so nice to have a show that's just as amazing as you'd expect it to be. I've also got volume 1 of Beck and eps 1 - 10 of Welcome to the NHK, courtesy of Daniel.

Friend-wise:
Things are just good. 'nuff said.

Much needed update...

I am back in school. It's not much different than before, but I do have to admit that I am having a little bit of trouble adjusting with the regular class schedules and such again.

I'm taking:

GC 405/406
Creative Inquire: Variable Data Printing
Marketing 301
Psych 364
Environmental Science 200
English 314 (Technical Writing)

I'm currently working on a label design for my 405/406 project. I will probably continue working on that tomorrow afternoon. I have to find some small 2 - 3 inch bottles to put them on too.

On another note, I haven't been watching a lot of anime lately. I guess that has to do with schoolwork. The days leave me feeling tired.

Oh yeah, there was a TAGA meeting last Thursday. We talked about the phosphorous ink and how we are going to incorporate it into our journal box. We got it all figured out, including the on/off switch, the circuitry, and the possible color. Now all we need to do is design it and get the exact size.

There's really not a whole lot going on in life right now. Over and out.
