Vacation Time

So, I finally looked at my calendar this afternoon and came to the sudden realization that I have vacation time coming up. I am the last person on the rotation to schedule vacation, and pretty much all of November and December were filled up. So, I unceremoniously dumped two and a half vacation days on some random week in October. Which happen to be the 13th (half day), 14th, and 15th. Perhaps I will be able to catch up with people. I guess I will just be playing it by ear, as usual.

Today was fun. I went to Oktoberfest with Michelle and her parents. It was in Alpine Helen, GA. A cute little Bavarian town with a bunch of mini golf courses and a really nifty glass blowing store. I couldn't resist the $1.68 grab bag bin sitting right in front of the door, so I bought one. Now I have this teensy, tiny, cute pig to add to the figurine shelf. I think I will put them next to the tiny kittens Daniel got for me as a birthday/x-mas present a couple years ago.

Michelle and I split a beer since she doesn't really like beer, then I got something called a Peach Wine Lushie. It was surprisingly good. Unfortunately, it had ice in it, so I had to drink it slowly. Then we walked around the town and popped in and out of a couple stores. I know it's a tourist trap sort of town, but I would really like to go back there one day and see all the goofy stuff they have.

I was also awoken by a text message and then a phone call. The text message was informative, but the phone call was depressing.

Oh well. Life has its ups and downs, eh?

She's Hotter

Something about this song is strangely addictive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhlxkVzNa2k

We do it in zumba class and it always gets stuck in my head. Michelle wants to do something scary for October, and we were thinking of going to a haunted house. I don't know which one we're going to go to, but there's apparently a really scary one in Atlanta called The Netherworld. It definitely sounds interesting.

I spent the first half of this past weekend in Clemson/Greenville. Friday night, got to hang out with friends. Played Appleletters. That was pretty awesome. I really wish I could play that game with people more often. I'm not sure what the next theme of my solitary game should be. Suggestions? (I ask even though no one actually reads this)

Talked to Edna (movie theater owner) about when they're going to put the Harry Potter tickets on sale. She said probably at the end of the month. w00t w00t! Definitely got to get tickets to that.

Guess I gotta figure something out for dinner and figure out which book I want to read. I got Soulless, Revolutionary Road, and 1984 to choose from. Two of which are from the Pines library, so I should probably start in on those. I started 1984 last night, and it's kind of addictive. Soulless looks like it's going to be hilarious. And I know they made a movie out of Revolutionary Road, but I haven't seen it.

Hm...why must pretty clothes always be so expensive? *sighs*
