It's turned into a crazy winter here in Clarkesville. Apparently it started snowing at exactly midnight on Sunday, and that lasted on and off through most of Monday afternoon. At least it was very pretty. Super powdery stuff, I almost wish I could have gone out to play in it, but the most I did outside was brush the snow off the top of the car. There's so much snow, in fact, that we are under a winter weather advisory. Just like 40 something other states right now. Hurrah! Snow!
I'm not sure if I meant those last two bits with sarcasm or not.
I had to use a vacation day to cover yesterday since I couldn't go into work and the service center was apparently still open (for half a day anyway). This morning is turning into a mess just trying to figure out if I should even attempt the journey or not. Black ice and frozen surfaces galore. I think I enjoy living and breathing at the moment, so I've called in and said I'm not even going to try it. The weird thing is, I had to call my team leader in another state to tell her since I can't get in contact with anyone in Toccoa. Huh. How could a huge company NOT have an emergency weather plan? 真的吗? *sighs*
So, it's another unexpected day off for me and I have no idea what I'm going to do. Right now I really wish I had bought Katamari Forever so I'd at least have another co-op game to play if Michelle comes over again. She came over yesterday morning and we watched a ton of movies until late into the night. It was a pretty good day given the circumstances.
Ruka was flipping out this morning. She may have thought I was going to try to drive to work. She's calmed down a lot since I called in and said I wasn't coming. Animals are weird.
Love Letters to start the day. Breakfast of champions.
I think I'll go find something to do now.

Could you whisper in my ear...
This has probably the longest I've been online in a while now. I guess it's kinda nice to end the year in a sort of old way. I can't remember the last time I stayed up till 3 am just chatting with one person on AIM.
That one person happens to be Paul. We managed to figure out that we've known each other for approximately four years now, and who knows...maybe we'll figure out some way to meet in 2011. He'd be the last one, and hopefully that meeting will go well. I'm fairly certain it will. I might end up going to Anime Iowa for the first time to make this happen. Alas, all that planning will take place sometime in the new year. Trying to figure out when we first started talking brought up some dusty old memories. Not bad, just dusty. The one person linking us has melted out of both of our lives. That part is a little sad.
2010 has been...really pleasant, to say the least. I suppose the world came crashing down with a dreadful amount of drama at the end of 2009, and then some surprisingly good things started in 2010. It doesn't seem like January 2009 was that long ago. Sometimes I'll still lie awake at night and feel guilty about how all of that played out. That will pass in time though. I hope.
Overall, it's been a fantastic year as far as years go. It was eventful, but all in the good way. There weren't any major tragedies to get hung up on in these past 365 days.
Looking back on my calendar from January to April, I cannot believe the insane amount of stuff I managed to cram into 24 hours. I would totally go back and do it all again if I needed to too. I'll have all these happy memories from this year to think about now. Through all this, I've started wearing more colors and my face now does this automatic thing called "smiling." Those are all good signs, right? Sure, I've become distant with one or two friends, but most of them are still around and I've made new ones along the way.
I suppose I'm mellowing out now that it's drawing closer to four. I don't want to sleep in my bed tonight. There's so much empty space. It's the first time I've really considered sleeping out on the couch in this apartment.
My parents are coming down later today and we're going to some sort of party for new year's. All I remember is my mom getting super excited about an Elvis impersonator. I'm not entirely sure how this is going to go. Hopefully there won't be too many drunk people running around, but I don't have my hopes set very high.
Anime wise, there's just so much more to look forward to. There are still boxsets to buy and shows to watch. I'm not sure what's coming up on Netflix next. I just finished Clannad tonight. Apparently Clannad: After Story is a Masterpiece according to 1000+ votes on ANN. Too bad you can only save the DVDs on Netflix at the moment. I hope they become available soon. Started watching Miracle Train earlier, but I got bored with the first episode halfway through. I vaguely remember reading about it when it came out and I thought it sounded kinda stupid. My first instincts were proving to be right. I know I shouldn't judge a show by the first half of the first episode, but if the tagline ends in "will you fall in love with a train station?" then there has to be something wacky going on. It was quickly becoming another generic bishounen-help-lovely-ladies-solve-their-problems type of deal. Maybe I'll go back and watch the rest of it another day.
Listening to Pandora. Have been for the past few hours. I'm either very easy to please in terms of music, or they're just really good at picking songs I like. It's probably more of the former than the latter.
I think I will sleep in my bed tonight.
Happy new year's (eve) everyone.

Kirisumasu
Hetalia Axis has an app on the iPhone. Dang. That's kinda weird.
Christmas seems to be right around the corner and I still feel like I'm missing a lot of the excitement I should have this time of year. We had snow, I've gotten two presents thus far, and there's plenty of hot chocolate...yet...I just don't feel excited about it.
I remember when I used to count down the days and hum little Christmas tunes to myself. I did the paper ring count down thing almost every year. Cut out snowflakes. Really wanted to put up the Christmas tree. Decorate. Look at lights and houses. I dunno what's going on with my head this year. I suppose it has something to do with the radical changes that have taken place over the year.
Hm...I just don't know. I do know that it will be nice to spend time with my family. Definitely gotta bring my PS3 up there though. Need all my LBP data. Teehee.
Ruka spilled all the papers on the floor. They weren't in any particular order.

Cold, Dark...
Blargh. It's cold. I don't want to go back outside cause it's so freaking cold. It snowed in Clarkesville this past weekend. Super pretty.
...oh, kitty!
Zumba tonight. Ah. It's cold. Don't wanna go. I should go though, right? I should. I probably will. But it's so cooooooold. *sighs* I guess I will venture into the cold so I can be semi-social.
Dunno what to do this weekend. I suppose that's all the way at the far end of the week. Between now and then, I get to work 4 hours of overtime. That'll help balance out the whole Christmas shopping thing. Even though I haven't really done anything like that.
Time to go.

Would You
He holds her in his arms.
Would you? Would you?
He tells her of her charms.
Would you? Would you?
They met as you and I,
And they were only friends.
But before the story ends...
He holds her in his arms.
Would you? Would you?
He tells her of her charms.
Would you? Would you?
They met as you and I,
And they were only friends.
But before the story ends...
He'll kiss her with a sigh.
Would you? Would you?
And if the girl were I
Would you? Would you?
And would you dare to say,
"Let's do the same as they."?
I Would. Would you?
And would you dare to say,
"Let's do the same as they."?
I Would. Would you?
This movie always makes me smile.

Fanfiction anyone?
I haven't actually sat down to read fanfics in a couple years now, and this totally reminds me of why: HERMIONE AND GINNY VERSUS THE SPACE WIZARDS
It's as if Sailor Moon were to meet Harry Potter. Wow. Just wow. Thank you Questionable Content.
A new Glee episode came on tonight! Better than last week's ep. The preview for next week's episode explains that mysterious "Christmas episode" they have that CD out for. That looks interesting.
I tried to continue on with my Rurouni Kenshin season two discs, but I think I've gotten them out of order. =/ It's going to take some time sorting them out.
It's been raining nonstop all day. There was light drizzle this morning, then a monsoon to drive through after work, and now it's falling at a steady pace. It makes for great book reading weather. Which is what I'm probably going to do now.
Hurray. Grocery palooza! Tomorrow's the middle of the week.

Yoshitoshi ABe
After a very, very long hiatus, I have decided to finish collecting Haibane Renmei. Randomly found volume one almost six years ago in some tiny video game store with an anime section. Watched it, loved it, downloaded the rest, and decided it was worth owning. I got distracted by other shows somewhere along the way and that one just slipped through the cracks.
Rewatched it this past weekend, and realized that I shouldn't have given up on that project in the first place.
Just looked up the price of Haibane Renmei on Amazon. Apparently a boxset of volumes 1-4 goes for approximately $200.
Blast.
Time to start searching for single volumes at a much more affordable price...

Skins vol. 1, Episode 2
Anwar: Quiet Cas, I'm trying to pray to my God.
Cassie: Oh. Is he listening?
Anwar: ...I hope not.
I re-watched an episode of Skins tonight. I forgot how crazy all the kids were in the first two seasons. They were so personable though. And they weren't screwing each other and getting f*cked up every five minutes. It's such a mesmerizing show.
Anyways, Harry Potter midnight showing tonight. w00t! That's going to be fun. Michelle and I are leaving kinda soon-ish for it. I think. Not too sure.
I haven't been able to eat this week. I don't really know why. I guess it started last Friday after the zumba master class. I felt really hungry, but I just couldn't eat. The feeling hasn't dissipated much since then.
This week's been pretty monotonous.

Want you to make me feel...
Ok, Sam got a new song stuck in my head tonight. *sighs*
I've spent the past few hours cleaning up the apartment. People came. Brought presents. Cooked. Used general...stuff. Built a playground for Ruka. Left a mess. Huzzah. I spent a lot of time running between the dish washer, washing machine, and the new 5.1 surround sound system dad got me as a birthday gift. Cords, cords, cables, plugs, and all sorts of fun! It really is easier to sit down and organize it all when there's no one else here. I guess it was about time I rearranged a bit of the apartment anyways. Hehe. Now I can watch Glee tomorrow night in hi-def with awesome sound.
Oh well, it was a TON of fun. What a great/amazing/awesome/super/excellent/fun/happy/bubbly/exciting/fantabulous/funtabulous/splendid birthday & weekend. At least, I had a fun time. Can't really speak for the other three people involved. Hehe.
Plus, I now have cheesecake! Meep!
